Placements - Somewhere Else
Somewhere Else is open twice a week to make bread by hand for individuals and community groups of all ages and abilities. The sessions include time for:
- all the elements of making bread,
- conversation and refreshments,
- shared reflection and prayers, and
- a simple meal together, prepared by the participants.
Somewhere Else wants to be an inclusive community offering a warm welcome to everyone who wants to join in.
The sessions are animated by the resident minister and a team of facilitators. The Vincentian Volunteer at Somewhere Else usually helps with setting the tables before each session, making vegetable soup or bread rolls for lunch, welcoming visitors and guiding them through the steps in bread-making and cleaning up. The volunteer is an important part of the community and is welcome to participate in other activities run by the Methodist Church in Liverpool.
