St Vincent de paul society CHARITY SHOP manchester

St Vincent de Paul Society Charity Shop Rochdale is a community shop with a difference. Though resembling most charity shops, it’s main purpose is not just to raise money for the charity. The shop is one of over 40 situated mainly in areas of deprivation and serves the local community selling affordable goods to disadvantaged individuals and families. Project contact: Philomena CrossleyLocation: 1152 Rochdale Road, Manchester M9 6EROur Volunteers assist them in offering the goods at the Shop to needy individuals and families with a friendly face and lively banter. It is a great way for them to interract with the people they wish to serve and a lot of warmth and frienship has been generated as a result. The shop offers local employment and volunteering opportunities and provides a visible presence of Christian concern. It also greatly helps to reduce the amount of materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.
